On your second visit, we will fit you with temporary dentures. The temporary dentures allow you to get used to wearing dentures and let us make any necessary adjustments.
Once you and the dentist are happy with the fit of your dentures, we will make a final set. We will make the final set of dentures look like your natural teeth and match the color of your gums.
Caring for Your Dentures
Brushing your dentures every day to remove food and plaque is essential. It would be best if you also soak your dentures in water or a denture cleanser overnight. The water will keep them from drying out and becoming brittle.
Be careful when handling your dentures. They are delicate and can break if dropped. When not wearing your dentures, store them in a safe place where they won’t get damaged.
You should see your dentist regularly for checkups and to have your dentures cleaned. Dentures also may need to be replaced every 5 to 7 years.
